Mary and Kevin Eufemia have operated Ravenwood Farm for 30 years. In April of 2010, we will be at our current location for 18 years.
Kevin was raised in Florida and showed his large pony Devil's Daughter before graduating to the Jumper rings. His Junior Jumper Soul Searcher won many year end awards in both Junior and Open Jumper divisions. He moved on to Miami where he managed and trained at a barn that fielded many famous ponies, Mr. Madcap and Farnley Clochewere some of the biggest winners. He later moved to Ocala to succeed in another area of the horse business. He bred and raised many wonderful horses. One of them, Star Gallant, was the winner of the Illinois Derby and Fountain of Youth Stakes race. He even placed in the Kentucky Derby. Mary was born and raised in Illinois and grew up riding and showing. She was always winning year end awards in the Junior and Equitation divisions on her mare Maid of Honor. She started teaching and riding horses for other people at the age of 16. She moved to Florida in 1979. Mary and Kevin started Ravenwood Farm in 1980. Kevin bred and raised Heartstrings, who after being sold to Don Stewart, was Green Conformation Champion of the country. Don purchased another of Mary & Kevin's horse; Case in Point and took him to Champion of the country in 2nd year Green. Kevin and Mary owned Enticement and campaigned her to Champion of the country in the 1st year Green division and overall Green Working Champion in 1993. |
Since then, they purchased the farm and continue their winning ways with their clients, winning Local and National year end awards, from walk trot and short stirrup division to Jr's hunter, jumpers and amateurs.
Ravenwood instills such a love for horses and their well being that FOUR of their clients who began riding with them as children have now grown up to be large animal vets! Click below to see how Ravenwood Farm changed the life of a little girl... A Story of HOPE! |
