Ravenwood Farm is proud to offer one of the most comprehensive equestrian lesson programs around! We have lessons available ranging from your first steps on horseback to preparation for Indoors, Finals, or the Grand Prix Ring. Our knowledgeable staff is SAFETY CONSCIOUS, WELL EDUCATED, and FUN! Learning to ride isn't just for the kids! We have a great beginner adult program and encourage our younger crew to invite their parents to participate as well.
Horseback riding is a wholesome outdoor activity that encourages much more than physical activity. It develops coordination, balance, and posture, and serves as a great stress reliever as well! Children who ride learn responsibility, patience, self-discipline and independence. Our program instils RESPECT, EMPATHY, and WORK ETHIC into its participants. Their self-confidence grows as they communicate and work as a team with their horse or pony.

Riding lessons are offered Monday through Saturday during business hours. Students have the availability of riding both in private lessons and in small groups to hone their equestrian skills. We teach students from the ages of 5 - 95!, and all beginner students start off with a series of private lessons to ensure they are capable of safely riding in a group prior to joining group lessons. Our lessons focus on developing a classical hunt seat position, with special attention given to the details necessary to compete at hunter/jumper horse shows. While we do not require that our lesson students compete, we teach the skill set necessary to be successful in a hunter/jumper competition venue and encourage our customers to show at whatever level they are able! In addition, we offer seasonal camps and clinics to provide students with the option to learn more about horsemanship and care of our animals.
With 10+ horses and ponies utilized in our program, Ravenwood can easily match your riding ability to a mount that will ensure a safe and fun lesson. Several of our lesson program steeds are retired show horses with storied careers!! Our lesson students reap the benefit of these old campaigners expertise and saavy. We are also one of the few programs in the area that allows students to participate in local horse shows on farm owned horses. Ravenwood offers an amazing month to month intro lease program in addition to horse show leases for local shows. This allows you the opportunity to experience horse showing without full leasing or purchasing a horse.
